The Model T makes use of the same dynamic rowing benefits that the RP3 Models S brought to the rowing world, only with improved stability and robustness thanks to a twin rail design. It features an additional built-in monitor for essential rowing parameters positioned behind where the tablet monitor would be fitted. Also, the rear leg features a gas spring that simulates the bounce of a boat and further reduces the load on the lower back.
The RP3T is not only suited for use by the rowing elite but the benefits of dynamic rowing such as minimisation of loading on the lower back can now be brought to gyms and the home.
The full-body workout benefit of the rowing machine need not be avoided due to concerns of back pain.
Tablet not included.
DYNAMIC ROWING
The RP3 Model T is even more advanced in terms of dynamic rowing. Thanks to a gas spring on the rear leg, the rower can feel the machine bounce under load at the end of the stroke, replicating a boat on the water. The RP3T also features a softer feeling catch compared to the Model S thanks to the use of a belt to connect the chain to the flywheel, again replicating boat feel and further reducing jarring load.
The resistance level on the RP3 T features greater variation than that available with the RP3 S. This enables you to train for strength or cardio.
SOFTWARE AND DISPLAY
The main software is featured on an app, “RP3 Rowing” found on the Google Play Store as with the model S. A detailed force curve is the focus of the screen, it enables athletes to get instant feedback on precise power application through each stroke, vital for technique development and fine-tuning. Workouts can be exported to be analysed stroke by stroke or uploaded to workout platforms such as Strava. The app also connects with most BLE heart rate belts allowing you to view your pulse on the screen while you train. Other display options include stroke length, drive to recovery ratio, and max force with its relative in-stroke position. Please see the ‘Guides’ page for more detail.
Exclusive to the RP3T is an additional built-in display, positioned behind where the normal monitor would attach. It shows your essential rowing parameters or your power-curve. This means that anyone can jump on and row without the need to link up a separate monitor.
QUALITY
The RP3T features aluminium construction which is powder-coated in black. This allows the machine to remain light in weight and resistant to corrosion despite a greater number of components compared to the model S.
Every flywheel is fully balanced and matched to achieve a consistent data output. The weight and inertia of the flywheel are specially designed to give you the same feeling as an oar through the water.
Adjustable Footrests and Optimised Handle – The use of adjustable heel flex footrests on the indoor rower make it easy to set the right height for your foot size. The handle is angled in two directions to minimise tension in arms and wrist during the drive, this also simulates the movement of the oar through the water.
Easy Storage and Mobility – The RP3 has wheels on the front foot allowing the fully-assembled machine to be rolled into position, it can also be stored upright
CONNECTIONS
For clubs, schools, and universities, the majority of rowing competition occurs in crew boats. RP3 uniquely offers link bars that enable machines to be linked together which means learning to row together as a crew doesn’t need to stop when land training. When linked together, athletes can feel when their counterparts apply power and work together to achieve perfect timing and matching force application.
